Federal Polytechnic Ayede Vacancies: Registrar/ Bursar & Polytechnic Librarian. The Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Ayede invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the positions of Registrar, Bursar, and Polytechnic Librarian.
These posts will become vacant on 16 March 2026. The appointments are for a single tenure of five (5) years, and applications must reach the Registrar’s office within six (6) weeks from the date of publication.
General Requirements for All Positions
- Age limit: Not more than 59 years as at 16 March 2026.
- Submit twenty (20) copies of the application letter, curriculum vitae, and photocopies of all relevant documents.
- Provide three (3) referees who must send confidential reports directly to the Registrar.

1. Registrar
Role:
The Registrar reports to the Rector and is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Polytechnic. The Registrar is a Principal Officer, heads the Registry Department, maintains Polytechnic records, and serves as Secretary to the Governing Council, Academic Board, and Standing Committees.
Qualifications and Experience:
- First degree with at least second class lower division or HND with Lower Credit in Social Sciences, Education, Arts, Humanities, or related fields.
- Post-qualification experience:
- First degree/HND holders: 18 years relevant experience
- Master’s degree holders: 15 years
- PhD holders: 12 years
- At least 10 years of experience must be in a Polytechnic or similar TVET institution.
- Registered member of relevant professional body recognised by the Federal Government.
- Must currently hold the rank of Deputy Registrar for at least 5 years.
- Skilled in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
- Evidence of strong administrative leadership, initiative, and good human relations.
- Knowledge of Public Service Rules and Regulations within the Polytechnic system.
- High integrity, morally sound, and physically/mentally fit.
- Should not pursue racial, gender, political, religious, or sectional interests.
2. Bursar
Role:
The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of the Polytechnic, responsible for managing all financial affairs. The Bursar is a Principal Officer, heads the Bursary Department, and keeps custody of Polytechnic finances.
Qualifications and Experience:
- First degree with at least second class lower division or HND with Lower Credit in Accountancy or Finance-related courses.
- Post-qualification experience:
- First degree/HND holders: 18 years
- Master’s degree holders: 15 years
- PhD holders: 12 years
- At least 10 years of experience in a Polytechnic or similar TVET school.
- Registration with ICAN or ANAN.
- Currently on a rank one level below Bursar (e.g., Chief Accountant, Deputy Bursar, or Deputy Director, Audit) for at least 5 years.
- Skilled in ICT, including accounting software.
- Evidence of strong financial and administrative leadership, initiative, and good human relations.
- Knowledge of Financial Rules and Regulations within the Polytechnic system.
- High integrity, morally sound, and physically/mentally fit.
3. Polytechnic Librarian
Role:
The Polytechnic Librarian is the Chief Library Officer, reporting to the Rector, responsible for running the Polytechnic Library and coordinating library services across teaching units. The role requires strong academic and administrative skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science (PhD preferred).
- First degree with at least second class lower division or HND with Lower Credit in Library Science or Library and Information Science.
- Minimum 18 years relevant experience, with 10 years in a Polytechnic or similar TVET institution.
- Must hold the rank of Chief Librarian for at least 5 years.
- Evidence of strong academic and administrative leadership, initiative, and creativity in library policy.
- Membership of relevant professional bodies recognised by the Federal Government.
- Scholarly publications and participation in conferences, seminars, and workshops.
- High integrity, morally sound, and physically/mentally fit.
- Skilled in ICT and not likely to pursue racial, gender, political, religious, or sectional interests.
Terms of Appointment
- Tenure: Single term of five (5) years.
- Salary and Benefits: Consolidated salary with allowances and benefits for Principal Officers, as approved by the Federal Government.
