What Are the Estonia Government Scholarships 2025?
The Estonia Government Scholarships offer a range of fully funded opportunities tailored to support foreign nationals in advancing their education and research in Estonia. Sponsorship Cover Plan: What’s Included?
The scholarships are categorized into three main types, each with comprehensive financial support:
- Summer & Winter School Scholarships:
- Covers course fees up to €700 (one course per applicant)
- Accommodation costs up to €25 per night for a maximum of 4 weeks
- Funds paid directly to the organizing university (online course participants also eligible)
- Degree and Exchange Study Scholarships:
- Financial support for formal or exchange studies, particularly for Master’s and PhD programs
- Limited undergraduate support for studies in Estonian language and culture
- Grants for Researchers and Academic Staff:
- Funding for teaching or research activities at Estonian universities
- Direct contract between the Education and Youth Board and the host institution
This robust sponsorship ensures recipients can focus on their academic goals without financial strain.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility varies depending on the scholarship type:
- Summer and Winter Schools:
- Open to international Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD students
- Must have completed at least one academic year at your home institution
- Requires pre-registration confirmation from the Estonian course organizer
- Degree and Exchange Studies:
- For foreign students planning to study at an Estonian institution in the 2025/26 academic year
- Master’s and PhD applicants welcome in any field; undergraduate support limited to Estonian language and culture
- Researchers and Academic Staff:
- Must hold an academic position at a foreign university
- Requires an invitation from an Estonian institution for teaching or research
