Ekiti State Scholarship & Bursary Forms 2026. The Ekiti State Scholarship Board has commenced applications for its 2025/2026 Scholarship and Bursary Awards for Ekiti State indigenes studying in Nigerian tertiary institutions.

The application forms are free and must be completed online through the Board’s official portal.

Summary

  • Applications open: 9 February – 27 February 2026
  • Apply via the Ekiti State Scholarship Board online portal
  • Bursary: 200 level and above; 5 O’Level credits in one sitting
  • Scholarship: 200 level and above; CGPA 4.0 (University) or 3.50 (Poly/NCE)
  • Part-time and sandwich students are not eligible
  • Late applications will not be accepted

The Board has stated clearly that late applications will not be accepted under any circumstance.

Categories of Awards (2025/2026)

The scheme covers:

  • Undergraduate awards
  • Polytechnic awards
  • Postgraduate awards (Master’s & Ph.D)
  • Handicapped Scholarship Award (Physically Challenged students)

Eligibility Requirements

1. Bursary Award (Undergraduate Category)

Applicants must:

  • Be in 200 level or above
  • Possess WASSCE/NECO with at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained at one sitting

Eligible institutions include:

  • Universities
  • Polytechnics
  • Colleges of Education
  • Schools of Nursing/Midwifery
  • Colleges of Health Technology

2. Undergraduate Scholarship Award

Applicants must:

  • Be in 200 level or above
  • Possess five O’Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, at one sitting
  • Meet the required academic performance:
    • Minimum CGPA of 4.0 (University students) — equivalent to Second Class Upper (2:1)
    • Minimum CGPA of 3.50 (Polytechnic and NCE students)

3. Master’s & Ph.D Scholarship Awards

Master’s Applicants

  • Must possess a minimum of Second Class Upper (2:1) at undergraduate level.

Ph.D Applicants

  • Must possess:
    • A minimum of Second Class Upper (2:1) in their first degree
    • A Distinction in their Master’s degree

Any applicant whose first degree is below Second Class Upper is not eligible for Ph.D scholarship, even with a Master’s distinction.


4. Handicapped Scholarship Award

Physically Challenged students in the following institutions are eligible:

  • Universities
  • Polytechnics
  • Colleges of Education
  • Schools of Nursing/Midwifery
  • Colleges of Health Technology
  • Postgraduate programmes

Who Is Not Eligible

The Board states that students enrolled in:

  • Part-Time programmes
  • Sandwich programmes

are not eligible for either scholarship or bursary awards.


Important Notice

Applicants must complete and submit their applications on or before:

Friday, 27 February 2026

The Ekiti State Scholarship Board will not accept late submissions.

Interested and qualified students are advised to apply early and ensure all eligibility conditions are fully met before submission.
