Admission Requirements for Diploma Programmes
Applicants must possess at least four credit passes.
These must include English Language, Mathematics, a relevant subject related to the course of study, and one other subject obtained in SSCE, GCE, NECO or an equivalent examination. The university also accepts relevant professional certificates in areas such as Technology, Business Administration, Banking, Accounting, Law, Marketing, Finance, Insurance and related fields.
Mature candidates may also be considered. Such applicants must be at least 35 years old, may possess qualifications below the minimum four-credit requirement, must include at least a pass in English Language or Mathematics, and must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience.
Specified Subject Area Requirements
Social Work and Community Development
Applicants may qualify with at least 3 credits at O’Level and must be at least 30 years old. This category also includes workers in social welfare ministries, religious organisations, media, local government, security agencies, refugee support services and humanitarian organisations. Candidates with OND, NCE, B.Sc. or equivalent qualifications may also apply.
Security and Criminology
Applicants in this category may include security personnel from the rank of Assistant Superintendent or its equivalent.
Admission Requirements for Professional Diploma
Candidates must have credit passes in four science subjects, including a credit pass in Mathematics and at least a pass in English Language.
Admission Requirements for Certificate Programmes
Applicants must possess at least three credit passes in relevant subjects from Arts, Social Sciences or Natural Sciences.
The credits must be obtained in not more than two sittings from GCE, SSCE, WASC or NECO. A credit pass in English Language is also required.
