Covenant University releases 2023/2024 postgraduate admission form; Applications are now open for admission into the postgraduate programmes at Covenant University for the 2023/2024 academic session. Candidates who are suitably qualified and interested can apply for the Masters and Ph.D degrees in various disciplines.

General Requirements:
Interested candidates must complete the application form on the University portal and submit all the necessary documents as specified on the application form. These documents include certificates of degrees and/or diplomas, academic transcripts, reference letters, and a 500-word statement of intent in the proposed research area.
Nigerian citizens should also provide their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge, exemption, or exclusion certificate. Candidates must ensure that the institutions they attended process and forward their official academic transcripts directly to the Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies. Only candidates with received transcripts will be considered for admission.
Masters Degree Programme:
Candidates applying for the Masters degree Programme at Covenant University must hold a Bachelor’s degree from Covenant University or any other University recognized by the Senate of Covenant University. The minimum requirement is a Second Class (Lower Division) in the relevant discipline. Candidates with a Third Class Bachelor’s degree or HND (Upper Credit) may be considered if they also possess a Postgraduate diploma (PGD) with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5.00 scale in a relevant discipline. The duration of the Masters degree program is two academic sessions for full-time study.
Ph.D Degree Programme:
Candidates applying for the Ph.D degree Programme at Covenant University must hold the Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Covenant University or any other University recognized by the Senate of Covenant University in the relevant discipline. To qualify for direct entry into the Ph.D degree program, candidates must have a minimum CGPA of 4.00 on a 5.00 scale or equivalent (60%) in their Master’s degree result.
Candidates with a CGPA of 3.50–3.99 on a 5.00 point scale or equivalent (55–59%) in their Master’s degree may be considered for the M.Phil/Ph.D program. Covenant University offers an M.Phil degree to M.Phil/Ph.D candidates who fail to meet the minimum CGPA of 4.00 after completing coursework examination.
These candidates will proceed to write a long essay/project and upon successful defense, will be awarded an M.Phil degree in the respective discipline. The minimum duration of study for the Ph.D degree is three academic sessions for full-time study.
Covenant Business School (CBS):
The Covenant Business School offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree Programme with various options. Candidates applying for the MBA degree Programme must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with at least a second-class lower division from Covenant University or any other university recognized by the Senate.
Candidates with a Third Class Bachelor’s degree, HND (minimum of Lower Credit) in a relevant discipline, or professional qualifications such as ACA, ICAN, ACIB, etc., must also possess a Postgraduate diploma (PGD) with a minimum CGPA of 3.50 to be eligible for admission. The duration of study for the MBA degree is two academic sessions for full-time study.
Additional Opportunities for Postgraduate Students:
Postgraduate students at Covenant University have additional opportunities, including industrial/professional experience through the internship program and the option to participate in a certificate/diploma program in Leadership.

To apply, visit the Covenant University School of Postgraduate Studies Website at https://spsadmportal.covenantuniversity.edu.ng/. Locate the 2023/2024 postgraduate admissions link and follow the steps outlined below:
- Create a personal account for your Admission process (Note: Do not use the password to your private email).
- After successfully creating the account, login and complete the online form.
- The payment page will appear after submitting the online form. The application form costs N15,000.00 (Fifteen Thousand Naira) only, with an additional transaction charge of N600.00 for bank payment or N900.00 for online payment.
- Payment can be made at Covenant University Microfinance Bank, Ecobank, or GTBank.
- After a successful fee payment, upload your passport, and make sure to copy your application number once it is displayed.
