Concept Academy 2026 National Medical Essay Competition for Nigerian Medical Students; Concept Academy has announced the opening of its 2026 National Intercollegiate Medical Essay Competition for medical students across Nigeria.
The competition is centred on the topic, “Artificial Intelligence, Telemedicine, and the Future of Patient Care in Africa.” It challenges students of Medicine and Surgery to examine how emerging technologies may influence healthcare delivery and patient care across the African continent.
Applicants are required to begin with a short abstract submission. Only shortlisted candidates will advance to the full essay stage of the competition.
Essay Topic
Participants are expected to write on the following topic:
“Artificial Intelligence, Telemedicine, and the Future of Patient Care in Africa.”
Applicants must ensure that their abstracts address the topic directly and clearly. Since the abstract is limited in length, every sentence should contribute meaningfully to the discussion.
Eligibility Requirements
The competition is strictly open to students studying Medicine and Surgery in recognised Nigerian medical universities and colleges.
Concept Academy did not extend eligibility to students from other academic disciplines, making the competition exclusive to medical students.
Abstract Submission Requirement
Each participant is required to submit an abstract containing between 70 and 100 words.
The abstract must clearly address the essay topic and demonstrate the applicant’s understanding of the subject matter.
According to the organisers, all submitted abstracts will undergo an initial review process. Candidates who meet the required standard will be shortlisted and invited to proceed to the full essay submission stage.
Applicants who are not shortlisted will not move to the next round of the competition.

Concept Academy announced cash rewards for the top three entries in the competition.
