COASTLAFIA Pre-ND and Pre-HND Admission for 2026/2027 Academic Session; The College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Lafia (COASTLAFIA) has announced the commencement of admission into its Pre-National Diploma (Pre-ND) and Pre-Higher National Diploma (Pre-HND) programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The admission exercise provides opportunities for candidates seeking entry into National Diploma (ND) programmes through the Pre-ND route, as well as ND graduates who require additional academic preparation before progressing to Higher National Diploma (HND) studies through the Pre-HND programme.

Both programmes run for one academic year and are designed to strengthen students’ academic foundations for further studies.

COASTLAFIA Pre-ND Programme

The Pre-National Diploma programme is designed for candidates who wish to prepare for National Diploma studies in Science and Technology-related fields.

The programme runs for one year and is structured across two semesters.

Pre-ND Admission Requirements

Candidates seeking admission into the Pre-ND programme must possess at least four credit passes obtained in not more than two sittings.

Mathematics and English Language are compulsory, while the remaining two credits must be selected from the following approved subjects:

  • Chemistry
  • Biology
  • Agricultural Science
  • Food and Nutrition
  • Home Management
  • Geography
  • Economics

Acceptable qualifications include:

  • WAEC (SSCE)
  • NECO
  • GCE
  • NABTEB
  • Other approved equivalent qualifications

Applicants are advised to ensure they meet the minimum subject requirements before beginning the application process.

Duration of the Pre-ND Programme

The Pre-ND programme lasts for one academic year and is completed over two semesters.

The application form costs ₦6,000.

How to Apply for Pre-ND Admission

Candidates are required to complete their application through the COASTLAFIA online application portal by following these steps:

  1. Visit the COASTLAFIA application portal.
  2. Create an account using accurate personal information.
  3. Generate a CBS invoice reference number.
  4. Take the invoice reference number to any bank.
  5. Pay the application fee of ₦6,000.
  6. Return to the portal and complete the online registration process.
  7. Submit the application before the deadline.

Applicants should ensure that all information supplied during registration is accurate, as it will form part of their admission records.

Pre-ND Registration Deadline

Online registration for the Pre-ND programme will close on:

30 September 2026

Candidates are advised to complete account creation, invoice generation, payment, and registration before the portal closes.

COASTLAFIA Pre-HND Programme

The Pre-Higher National Diploma programme is a one-year academic bridging programme for candidates who have completed National Diploma studies and wish to prepare for admission into Higher National Diploma programmes.

The programme is particularly suitable for candidates pursuing careers in agriculture, home economics, agribusiness, and related applied science disciplines.
