Eligibility for Coal City University Post UTME and Direct Entry
Candidates are eligible to apply if they:
- Scored the required mark in the UTME
- Seek admission through Direct Entry
- Intend to transfer from another university
Applicants must also meet the university’s O’Level requirements.
Coal City University requires candidates to possess at least five credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings in WAEC or its equivalent. However, candidates applying for Political Science may present a D7 in Mathematics.
How to Apply for Coal City University Admission
Applicants are advised to follow both the JAMB and university application procedures carefully to avoid delays during admission processing.
Application Steps
- Choose Coal City University as first choice during JAMB UTME registration.
- Candidates who did not initially choose CCU should visit a JAMB office or accredited CBT centre to carry out a change of institution.
- Upload O’Level results on the JAMB portal through a CBT centre or JAMB office.
- Print the original JAMB result slip.
- Visit the Coal City University admission portal.
- Click on “Apply for a Degree Programme.”
- Generate an invoice for the ₦2,000 application fee.
- Select the preferred application type.
- Enter the JAMB registration number and submit the application.
- Print the completed application form.
- Accept and print the admission letter once admission is offered.
Candidates should note that change of institution cannot be processed at a cyber café. According to the university, the process must be completed at an accredited CBT centre or any JAMB office nationwide.
Important JAMB CAPS Notice
The university stated that admission will only be offered to candidates whose O’Level results have been uploaded and made available to JAMB. Applicants are therefore advised to upload their results promptly and regularly monitor their admission status through JAMB CAPS.
