Chancellor’s International Scholarships at the University of Sussex (2024); The Chancellor’s International Scholarships at the University of Sussex are designed for exceptional international students who have secured a place at the university for the 2024 academic year and have demonstrated outstanding academic performance.
These scholarships, offering a tuition fee reduction, are available for a limited number of international Masters applicants, and only those with remarkable academic achievements and potential will be considered for these competitive awards.

Who Is Eligible for the Chancellor’s International Scholarships? To qualify for this scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be classified as ‘overseas’ for fee purposes.
- Enroll in a full-time Masters degree program starting in September 2024.
- Be self-financing.
- Demonstrate exceptional academic grades.
Qualifications Advice: Below are the minimum grades required to apply for the scholarship based on qualification/country:
- Brazil: 8.5/10 or 4.5/5.0
- Chile: 5.5 – 5/8 depending on the university
- India: At least 70%, depending on the university
- Japan: GPA 3.5
- Mexico: 8.5/10 or 85%
- Nigeria: First class/CGPA 3.5
- Pakistan: 4-year Bachelor’s degree with a minimum overall grade of 80% / Masters with 70%
- Peru: 14 or 16/20
- Turkey: GPA 3.3
- USA: GPA 3.5
Who Isn’t Eligible for the Chancellor’s International Scholarships? You are not eligible for this scholarship if you:
- Are applying for a Masters at a university other than the University of Sussex.
- Are entering the final year of an integrated Masters at Sussex.
- Are studying an online course.
- Already hold another University of Sussex scholarship (e.g., the Chancellor’s Masters Scholarship).
- Are studying one of the excluded courses listed below:
Excluded Courses for the Chancellor’s International Scholarships: You are not eligible for this scholarship if you are pursuing any of the following:
- Certificates and Diplomas (including PGCE).
- Courses at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS).
- Courses at IDS.
- Early Years Education (with Early Years Teacher Status).
- Degrees in Social Work (if receiving an NHS bursary).
- Online courses.
- Schools direct teaching courses.
- Masters funded by the research councils (e.g., ESRC 1+3 funding).
