- Programme Availability: Only Ph.D. programmes are offered for the Rain Semester session.

Postgraduate Academic Session:
- Duration: 12 months, from October 2 to August 8.
- Rain Semester: Starts April 2.
- Extensions of up to 6 months are permitted twice, if necessary.
Postgraduate Programmes Offered, Duration, and Requirements
Ph.D. Degree Programmes
- Open to candidates with M.A., M.Ed., M.Eng., M.Sc., LL.M., or MPH degrees.
- Minimum Requirement: A score of 60% or 4.0 CGPA on a 5-point scale in Master’s programmes.
Duration
- Full-Time: 36 to 60 months
- Part-Time: 48 to 72 months
Requirements
- Completion of prescribed coursework.
- Submission and defense of a thesis.
Eligibility
- Meet entry requirements at the time of application.
- Provide NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificates dated before March 30, 2025.
- Five O-Level credits, including English and Mathematics.
- For O-Level results obtained before 2015, a pass in either English or Mathematics may be acceptable based on the programme.
- Proof of English proficiency for candidates from non-English speaking universities (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS).
- International applicants must submit a 5-page research proposal to pgschool@unilorin.edu.ng by February 7, 2025.
- Full-time applicants must present a letter of release from their employer during registration.
