Apply for UNILAG’s Diploma and Certificate programmes for 2024/2025. The University of Lagos (UNILAG) is now accepting applications for its Diploma, Advanced Diploma, and Professional Certificate Programmes for the 2024/2025 academic session. These programs, offered by the Human Resources Development Centre (HRDC) of UNILAG, are designed to enhance skills and provide certifications that are recognized nationally and internationally.

Available Programmes

UNILAG offers a wide range of programmes through HRDC, including:

  • Diploma in Social Development and Administration (SDA): Two academic sessions (Full Time). Graduates may proceed to a B.Sc. in Social Work.
  • Diploma in Human Kinetics and Health Education (HKHE): Two academic sessions (Full Time). Graduates may proceed to a B.Ed. in Human Kinetics and Health Education.
  • Proficiency Certificate in European Languages (French/Russian/German/Spanish): One academic session (Two Semesters).
  • Diploma in Information Technology (DIT): Two Semesters (9 months).
  • Advanced Diploma in Law Enforcement and Administration (ADLEA): Two Semesters (9 months).
  • Diploma in English for Professionals (DEP): Two Semesters (9 months).
  • Diploma in Business Administration: Two Semesters (9 months).
  • Diploma in Hospitality Management: Two Semesters (9 months).
  • Diploma in Technical Works and Facility Maintenance: Nine Months, Two Semesters.
  • Diploma in Paralegal Studies: Two Semesters (9 months).

Admission Requirements

  • Candidates must meet the specific admission requirements for their chosen programme. Detailed information about the requirements can be found on the  HRDC Application Portal

Application Process

  1. Pre-Application: Visit the  HRDC Application Portal and complete the pre-application form.
  2. Payment: After completing the form, a “Payment Reference Number” (RRR) will be issued. Print this out and take it to any bank to make a non-refundable payment of ₦15,000 via Remita.
  3. Application Submission: After payment, return to the HRDC portal, click the application form link, and log in with the Payment Reference Number and Surname as the password. Complete and submit the application form online.

Important Information

  • Full-Time Programmes: Only the Social Development and Administration (SDA), Human Kinetics and Health Education (HKHE), and the Proficiency Certificate in European Languages are full-time programmes that run on weekdays.
  • Part-Time Programmes: All other programmes are part-time, running on weekends only.
  • Payments must be confirmed by the bank for applicants to access the application form.
  • The pre-application form must be completed within five days of obtaining the Reference Number, or it will be declined.
  • Completed application forms, along with two photocopies of birth certificates, credentials, Reference Number printouts, and the ₦15,000 payment teller, must be submitted to the HRDC Secretariat no later than six weeks from the date of this advert.

Admission Notification

Successful candidates will be notified via email and through the HRDC portal. Admission letters for shortlisted candidates can be printed online.
