Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the AOS Orwell Scholarship, you must:
- Be a Nigerian citizen
- Be in your second year of study (2023/2024 admission year)
- Be enrolled full-time at Rivers State University
- Be studying any engineering course
- Have a minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale
- Not be receiving any other national or international scholarship
If you don’t meet all the requirements above, your application will not be considered.
Documents You Need Before Applying
Ensure you have clear, scanned copies of the following:
- Recent passport photograph (white background, 450×450 pixels, max 200KB)
- School ID card
- Admission letter
- O’ Level result
- JAMB result
- Local Government Area identification letter
Important tips for uploading:
- Name your files clearly (e.g., “JAMB_Result_JohnDoe.pdf”)
- Do not mix up documents
- Review each upload carefully before submitting
- Ensure your name matches across all documents. If there’s any discrepancy, upload a sworn affidavit or certificate of name change
How to Apply Online
Follow these steps to submit your application:
- Visit the AOS Orwell 2025 application portal
- Create an account or log in to an existing one
- Activate your account using the link sent to your email
- Return to the scholarship site and log in
- Complete your profile with:
- Personal information
- Educational details
- Your National Identification Number (NIN) (if available)
- Upload all required scanned documents
- Carefully review all entries
- Click on “Apply Now” under the AOS Orwell scholarship scheme
- Download your verification profile from your Scholastica account
- Have your Head of Department (HOD) sign the profile
- Upload the signed verification profile to complete your application
Multiple applications will lead to disqualification.

Although not mandatory to begin your application, having a National Identification Number (NIN) is important. To apply for or update your NIN:
- Go to the NIN Enrolment Portal
- Create an account and fill out the registration form
- Schedule an appointment and complete your biometric capture at any NIMC registration centre
- Once issued, update your scholarship profile with your NIN
What Happens After You Apply?

If you’re shortlisted, you’ll be invited to write an online computer-based test (CBT). You’ll receive details of the test by email and SMS.
