Objective of the Programme
The Pre-Degree Science (PDS) Programme at FUTA is designed to help students transition smoothly into university-level education. It equips students with the necessary academic and practical skills needed for success in higher education.
Admission Requirements for Pre-Degree Science
Eligibility Criteria:
- O’Level Requirements: Candidates must have a minimum of five credit passes in WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB, obtained in not more than two sittings. These must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
- Additional Subjects: The fifth subject should be relevant to the proposed course, such as Biology, Agricultural Science, Economics, or Geography.
- Passes: A pass in Physics is acceptable for specific departments, including Estate Management, Industrial Design, Urban and Regional Planning, Agricultural Economics and Extension, Ecotourism and Wildlife Management, Fisheries and Aquaculture Technology, and Crop Soil and Pest Management. A pass in Chemistry is acceptable for Architecture.
- Deficiencies: Candidates with deficiencies in their O-level results may apply, provided these are rectified before the end of the 9-month programme.
Admission Requirements for University Undergraduate Programme
To gain admission into the University Undergraduate Programme after completing the PDS, candidates must:
- JAMB UTME Form: Obtain a JAMB Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) form and select FUTA as their first choice.
- PDS Final Examination: Achieve a minimum aggregate score of 50% in the PDS final examination.
- JAMB Score: Meet JAMB’s minimum aggregate score for admission into 100 Level.
- University Admission Committee (UAC) Requirements: Comply with UAC requirements.

Application Procedure
Interested candidates should apply through the FUTA Application Portal by following these steps:
- Create an Account: Click on “Create Account Here” and select the programme (e.g., PDS/UABS).
- Generate Invoice: Log in with the Username and Password and generate an application invoice with TRANSACTION ID or INVOICE NO (and RRR for Remita Payment).
- Pay Application Fee: Pay the application fee of N20,000 using the RRR code at any bank or online via Remita website.
- Complete Application: Log in online after payment to confirm and complete the application form.
- Submit and Print: Submit the online application form and print the Acknowledgement/Screening Schedule slip. If eligible, print the Admission Letter and pay school fees using the Remita process.
