Alex Otti Foundation Opens Undergraduate Scholarship Programme Application Portal; The Alex Otti Foundation has opened its application portal for the Undergraduate Scholarship Programme, a scheme designed to support academically strong students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds.

The scholarship is intended for talented Nigerian students who need financial assistance to continue their education in publicly owned tertiary institutions across Nigeria. The programme aims to reduce the burden created by rising education costs and help bright students remain in school.

What the Scholarship Programme Is About

The programme targets undergraduate students with strong academic performance, leadership potential, and a clear commitment to community development.

Over the years, the scholarship has expanded, with hundreds of students benefiting from financial support across different Nigerian universities. Beneficiaries receive funding to assist with tuition, accommodation, and other academic expenses throughout their university studies.

Who Can Apply

Interested applicants must meet the following conditions before submitting an application:

  • The applicant must be an undergraduate student in a Nigerian public tertiary institution.
  • The candidate must have completed the first academic session and be progressing to 200-level.
  • The applicant must have a minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale or its equivalent.
  • The applicant must be ancestrally from or currently residing in Abia State.
  • Direct Entry students admitted into 200-level may also apply if they meet the academic requirement.
  • The applicant must not have a sibling who is currently a beneficiary of the Alex Otti Foundation scholarship.

Documents Required for the Application

Applicants must prepare digital copies of the following documents to complete the application:

  • Signed statement of result issued by the department or faculty administration
  • Proof of residency, such as a utility bill or a letter from a community or religious leader
  • Valid identification
  • Three essays of 400 words each, making a total of 1,200 words

Rule on Originality and AI Use

The foundation requires applicants to submit original work.

According to the organisation, plagiarism or excessive use of artificial intelligence tools will lead to immediate disqualification. The foundation expects each applicant to present their own ideas and personal voice in the essays.
