These academic pathways are designed to prepare students for direct entry into university undergraduate programmes, both in Nigeria and abroad, and provide structured alternatives to the traditional UTME route.
A Comprehensive Overview of ABUAD’s Foundation Pathways
Pre-Degree Programme (9 months)
ABUAD’s Pre-Degree programme offers a robust nine-month curriculum tailored to students aiming to strengthen their performance in WAEC/NECO while also preparing for the UTME. A key advantage of the programme is that successful candidates gain automatic entry into 100 Level without having to take ABUAD’s Post-UTME screening.
With a success rate exceeding 95%, the Pre-Degree option has consistently enabled students to transition smoothly into full undergraduate programmes at the university.
Cambridge A-Level (12 months)
Ideal for students seeking both local and international university placement, this one-year intensive course prepares candidates for the globally recognized Cambridge A-Level examinations. ABUAD has been a Cambridge-accredited centre since 2012, and its alumni have progressed to top universities within Nigeria and overseas.
Degree Foundation (JUPEB or Cambridge – 12 to 18 months)
This pathway is targeted at candidates who already satisfy basic university entry requirements. It grants direct admission into 200 Level in approved courses—excluding Law. Through JUPEB or Cambridge qualifications, students are eligible to apply to ABUAD and a wide range of other Nigerian universities.
International Exam Coaching
For students aspiring to study abroad, ABUAD also offers structured coaching for international standardised tests including the GRE, GMAT, SAT, IELTS, and TOEFL. With certified instructors and dedicated learning support, the programme equips students with the tools needed to meet global university requirements.
Application Process
For Pre-Degree Applicants
- Duration: 9 months
- Entry Point: 100 Level
- Method: Visit the Afe Babalola International Study Centre (ABISC), Ibadan, to obtain the application form.
For Degree Foundation (JUPEB or Cambridge) Applicants
- Duration: 12–18 months
- Entry Point: 200 Level
- Method: Also collect your form from the ABISC office in Ibadan.

- Fill out the form and attach a passport-sized photograph.
- Include your bank payment slip.
