ABU Announces Commencement of 2025/2026 Academic Session; The University Management has officially announced the start of the 2025/2026 academic session, welcoming both new and returning undergraduate and postgraduate students.
According to a special bulletin released on Friday, 2nd January 2026, academic activities will officially begin on Monday, 5th January 2026, with the opening of the registration portal. Lectures are scheduled to commence a week later, on Monday, 12th January 2026, in line with the approved academic calendar.
Key updates for students include:
- Accommodation Applications: The accommodation portal will open on Monday, 5th January 2026, allowing students to apply for available bed spaces.
- NELFund Fee Payment: Students who have applied for the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund) are advised to complete their fee payments to meet registration deadlines. The University Management has assured that such students will be reimbursed once their loan disbursements are received.
- Screening for New Students: The screening exercise for newly admitted students will continue alongside registration and lectures, ensuring that all requirements are completed on schedule.
