UNIABUJA Literary Admission 2026/2027. The University of Abuja (UNIABUJA), through its Centre for Literary Studies, Creative Writing and International Publishing, is inviting applications for admission into its literary studies, creative writing and publishing programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The programmes are available at certificate, postgraduate diploma, master’s and doctoral levels, with options covering areas such as creative writing, publishing, editing, scriptwriting, documentary production and digital publishing.

How to Apply for UNIABUJA Literary Programmes

Applicants interested in the 2026/2027 programmes should complete their application through the UNIABUJA Integrated Portal.

The application form costs ₦20,000, and the fee is non-refundable.

UNIABUJA Certificate in Publishing Studies Requirements

Applicants for the Certificate in Publishing Studies must have at least five O’Level credit passes, including English Language, in not more than two sittings.

Relevant professional, creative or practical experience is preferred.

UNIABUJA PGD Literary Studies and Creative Writing Requirements

Applicants for the Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Literary Studies and Creative Writing must meet one of the following academic requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree with at least a Third Class or Pass Degree from a recognised institution.
  • An HND with at least Lower Credit from a recognised institution.

Relevant professional certificates may also be considered in accordance with University regulations.

Applicants are also required to have relevant practical or professional experience.

UNIABUJA Master’s Programme Requirements

Applicants seeking admission into either the Master’s in Literary Studies and Creative Writing or Master’s in Publishing Studies require:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree with at least Second Class Lower Division in a relevant discipline.
  • An NYSC discharge or exemption certificate, where applicable.
  • Relevant professional and practical experience.

UNIABUJA Doctoral Programme Requirements

Applicants for the Doctor in Literary Studies and Creative Writing must have:

  • A Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Relevant professional or skilled experience in the proposed research or area of specialisation.

General O’Level Requirement
