Candidates can check whether an admission offer has been recorded through JAMB CAPS. Candidates whose admission has been approved will need to respond to the offer and keep the required admission documents ready.
ADSU Admission Status Is Available on JAMB CAPS
Candidates can check their ADSU admission status through JAMB CAPS.
The process is as follows:
- Visit the JAMB eFacility portal.
- Log in using the JAMB username and password.
- Scroll to Check Admission Status and select it.
- Select Access my CAPS.
- Open Admission Status to see whether ADSU has offered admission.
The response displayed on CAPS represents the current position of the candidate’s admission application.
JAMB CAPS Admission Responses and Their Meanings
Candidates may see one of five responses after opening the Admission Status section.
Admission Offered
This means JAMB has approved the admission. The candidate can proceed to accept or reject the offer.
Admission in Progress
This means ADSU has reviewed the application and recommended the candidate for admission.
The recommendation is awaiting approval from the Head of Institution before JAMB completes its final review.
Recommended
This means ADSU has considered the candidate for admission, while JAMB is still reviewing the application to confirm that the required admission criteria have been met.
Not Admitted
This means the candidate has not been considered or selected for admission at that point.
The status may appear because the relevant admission list has not been released or because the candidate’s application is still under review.
Pending
This means the application remains under review and no final admission decision has been recorded.
Offered Candidates Can Accept or Reject Admission
Candidates who have been offered admission are expected to accept or reject the offer.
This can be done through biometrics at an approved JAMB CBT Centre or by SMS.
For the SMS option, candidates should send ACCEPT or REJECT to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number registered with JAMB.
The candidate’s main airtime balance should have up to N50, as JAMB does not deduct the required amount from borrowed airtime or Xtra Credit.
After accepting the admission offer, the candidate can proceed to print the JAMB admission letter.
How to View JAMB CAPS on a Phone
Some candidates checking JAMB CAPS on a mobile phone may see only the CAPS welcome message while the Admission Status option remains hidden.
Chrome is recommended for accessing CAPS on a phone. Candidates can open the browser options and select Request desktop site.
