OAU JUPEB Admission Form 2026/2027

OAU JUPEB Admission Form 2026/2027; Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) has opened its JUPEB Programme admission form for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The programme provides candidates with a pathway to Direct Entry admission into 200 Level at OAU, other universities in Nigeria and universities abroad.

For candidates seeking an alternative route into university, the JUPEB programme provides a one-session academic programme designed to prepare students for the required examinations and subsequent Direct Entry admission.

What Is the JUPEB Programme?

The Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) is a national examination body that conducts examinations for students who have completed approved subject combinations and are seeking Direct Entry admission into Nigerian and partner foreign tertiary institutions.

JUPEB was approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria to address the gap created by the discontinuance of Advanced Level Examinations.

Candidates who successfully complete the approved programme and satisfy the examination requirements can obtain a JUPEB Direct Entry Certificate, which can be used as part of the admission process, subject to the requirements of the university of choice.

Who Can Apply for the OAU JUPEB Programme?

Candidates seeking to enrol in the OAU JUPEB programme must be prepared to undertake an intensive programme of academic work related to their proposed university course.

The basic entry requirement for enrolment is a minimum of five credit passes in the:

  • Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE), or
  • General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level.

The subjects presented must be relevant to the candidate’s intended university course.

OAU JUPEB Subjects and Course Structure

Each candidate is required to register for and sit examinations in three subjects and one General Studies course related to their proposed course of study at the university.

Each of the three subjects is divided into four courses.

Candidates take two courses per semester, making a total of four courses in each subject by the end of the programme.

At the end of the second semester, the results obtained in all the courses are merged to determine the candidate’s final grade in each subject.

Overall, each candidate is expected to take 12 courses, consisting of:

  • Six courses per semester
  • Three JUPEB subjects
  • One General Studies course

The General Studies component for each university faculty is based on the relevant general courses suggested for that faculty by the respective university.

How OAU JUPEB Grading Works

At the end of the programme, candidates who successfully complete the academic requirements will receive certificates based on their level of performance.

The JUPEB certificate carries letter grades from A to F in each of the three subjects and in the General Studies paper.

The grades awarded are:

  • A
  • B
  • C
  • D
  • E
  • F

What Candidates Need for University Admission After JUPEB
