Nigerian Air Force Recruitment 2026: NAF Tradesman and Non Tradesman Requirements; The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has invited suitable candidates to apply for its 2026 recruitment exercise, with vacancies available under the Tradesman/Woman and Non Tradesman/Woman categories.

Applications are to be completed online through the Nigerian Air Force recruitment portal. Candidates who successfully complete the online application will be required to print their Acknowledgement Form, Parent/Guardian Consent Form and Local Government Area Attestation Form.

The application deadline for both recruitment categories is 14 October 2026.

Nigerian Air Force Recruitment Categories

The Nigerian Air Force recruitment exercise is divided into two categories:

  • Tradesman/Woman
  • Non Tradesman/Woman

Eligibility requirements differ between the two categories. Applicants are therefore expected to carefully check the requirements for their preferred position before submitting an application.

NAF Tradesman/Woman Eligibility Requirements

Applicants applying under the Tradesman/Woman category must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a Nigerian citizen by birth.
  • Male applicants must be at least 1.66 metres tall.
  • Female applicants must be at least 1.63 metres tall.
  • Applicants must be medically, physically and psychologically fit.
  • Applicants must meet the Nigerian Air Force’s medical and employment standards.

ND and NCE Requirements

Candidates applying with National Diploma (ND) or Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) qualifications must have at least a Lower Credit.

They must also possess a minimum of five credits, including Mathematics and English Language, obtained in not more than two sittings through any of the following examinations:

  • WAEC
  • NECO
  • GCE
  • NABTEB
  • NBAIS

Driver and Trade Test Requirements

Applicants applying for driving positions or other trades that require a Trade Test must have at least five credits, including Mathematics and English Language, in not more than two sittings.

Applicants must also possess a Trade Test certificate.

Candidates applying for driving positions must have a valid driving licence.

Sportsmen and Sportswomen Requirements

Candidates applying as sportsmen or sportswomen must meet the required five-credit SSCE qualification.

They must also provide evidence of professional sporting experience. This may include relevant certificates and medals.

NAF Non Tradesman/Woman Eligibility Requirements

Applicants applying under the Non Tradesman/Woman category must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be between 18 and 22 years old by 1 March 2027.
  • Must have at least five credits, including Mathematics and English Language, obtained in not more than two sittings through WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB or NBAIS.
  • Must possess a Primary School Certificate.
  • Must possess a Secondary School Testimonial.
  • Must have no previous criminal conviction by a court of law.

How to Apply for Nigerian Air Force Recruitment 2026

Interested and qualified candidates can complete their application through the Nigerian Air Force recruitment portal.

Applicants are expected to complete the online application by providing the required information.

After successfully completing the application, the specified forms will become available for printing.

Candidates should ensure that they complete all required stages of the application before the closing date.

Forms to Print After NAF Application

Candidates who successfully complete the online application are required to print the following documents:

  • Acknowledgement Form
  • Parent/Guardian Consent Form
  • Local Government Area Attestation Form

Applicants who do not successfully complete the online application will not be able to generate these forms.

NAF Local Government Area Attestation Form Requirements

The Local Government Area Attestation Form must be signed by an approved person from one of the specified categories.

The signatory may be any of the following:

  • A military officer from the applicant’s state who is not below the rank of Wing Commander in the Nigerian Air Force, or an equivalent rank in the Nigerian Army or Nigerian Navy.
  • A police officer with the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police or above.
  • A substantive Local Government Chairman or Secretary.
  • A magistrate from the applicant’s state of origin.

The completed attestation form must also include the signatory’s passport photograph.

In addition, applicants must attach a photocopy of one of the signatory’s identification documents. This may be:

  • Driver’s Licence
  • National ID Card
  • International Passport

Nigerian Air Force Recruitment Closing Date

The Nigerian Air Force recruitment application deadline for both the Tradesman/Woman and Non Tradesman/Woman categories is 14 October 2026.

Candidates are expected to successfully complete their online applications before the deadline. This is necessary to enable them to generate and print the required post-application forms.

Applicants are advised not to wait until the final day before completing the registration.
