LASUSTECH Announces State of Origin Verification (SOVE) Mop-Up Exercise for 2026/2027 Admission; The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has announced a mop-up exercise for the State of Origin Verification Exercise (SOVE) for the 2026/2027 admission process.
The exercise is specifically for candidates who indicated Lagos State as their state of origin and selected LASUSTECH as their first-choice institution during the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) or through the 2026 JAMB Direct Entry application.
Who Is Eligible for the LASUSTECH SOVE Mop-Up Exercise?
The mop-up screening is open only to candidates of Lagos State origin who meet the following requirements:
- Selected LASUSTECH as their first-choice university during the 2026 UTME or JAMB Direct Entry registration.
- UTME candidates must have scored 195 and above in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
Only candidates who satisfy these conditions are eligible to participate in the State of Origin Verification Exercise.
Registration Dates
Registration for the LASUSTECH State of Origin Verification (SOVE) mop-up exercise will commence on:
- Opening Date: Monday, 6 July 2026
- Closing Date: Wednesday, 22 July 2026, at 12:00 noon
Eligible candidates are advised to complete their registration before the deadline, as late applications will not be accepted.
Screening Interview Date and Venue
The screening interview has been scheduled as follows:
- Date: Thursday, 23 July 2026
- Time: 9:00 a.m.
- Venue: 500-Seat Capacity Agric Auditorium, Ikorodu
Candidates are expected to arrive at the venue on time with all required documents for the verification exercise.
LASUSTECH SOVE Application Fee
Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of ₦10,000 (Ten Thousand Naira only).
The payment must be made exclusively through the official LASUSTECH SOVE portal.
Important Payment Notice
The university has strongly advised candidates to use only the official LASUSTECH SOVE portal for payment and registration.
Any applicant who pays money to an individual, another bank account, or through any platform other than the official portal does so at their own risk. The university will not be held responsible for such payments.
Why the State of Origin Verification Exercise Is Important
Candidates who claim Lagos State origin must be cleared by the State of Origin Verification Committee (SOVC) before they can proceed with the LASUSTECH Post UTME screening process.
Successfully completing the State of Origin Verification Exercise is therefore a mandatory requirement for eligible Lagos State indigenes seeking admission into the university.

Candidates who are yet to complete the verification exercise are advised to:
- Register before 12:00 noon on Wednesday, 22 July 2026.
- Make payment only through the official LASUSTECH SOVE portal.
- Attend the screening interview on Thursday, 23 July 2026, by 9:00 a.m.
- Report to the 500-Seat Capacity Agric Auditorium, Ikorodu, for the verification exercise.
