IAUE Reschedules 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry Screening Exercise; Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) has announced a new date for its 2026/2027 admission screening exercise for UTME and Direct Entry candidates.
The screening exercise, which was initially scheduled to commence on Monday, 22 June 2026, has been rescheduled to begin on Monday, 29 June 2026.
According to the University, the adjustment was approved to allow candidates enough time to obtain and print the required documents needed for the screening exercise.
Why IAUE Rescheduled the Screening Exercise
The University Management explained that the new date will enable UTME candidates to print their JAMB result slips showing candidate ranking, alongside other required documents needed for the screening process.
All UTME candidates are therefore advised to visit the JAMB portal and reprint their result slips before the screening date.
When Candidates Will Receive Screening Invitations
UTME and Direct Entry candidates should begin checking their email addresses and phone numbers from Monday, 22 June 2026 for personalized screening invitations.
Candidates are also advised to check their spam or junk folders regularly to avoid missing important notifications.

- Faculty
- Department
- Screening date
- Time
- Venue
- Batch
- Screening requirements
IAUE Screening Date, Venue and Time
The 2026/2027 screening exercise will commence on Monday, 29 June 2026.
Venue
Information and Communications Technology Centre (ICTC), Rumuolumeni Campus, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Time
- Biometric verification begins daily at 8:00 a.m.
- Screening activities begin daily at 9:00 a.m.
Candidates are expected to arrive early to complete the biometric verification process.
IAUE Screening Modalities for 2026/2027 Admission
The University has stated that the screening modalities remain as earlier outlined in Memo IAUE/REG/152/VOL.II/101.
The approved screening process includes:
- Compulsory biometric validation exercise
- O’Level and A’Level certificate verification
- Data screening
- Candidate score ranking
Will IAUE Conduct a Post-UTME Test?
No. The University has confirmed that there will be no Post-UTME examination.
Instead, candidates will be ranked based entirely on their JAMB UTME scores.
JAMB UTME scores will serve as the 100 percent criterion for ranking candidates. Applicants must also possess the appropriate UTME subject combination and O’Level requirements as specified in the JAMB Integrated Brochure and Syllabus System (IBASS).
In addition, candidates must meet the departmental cut-off marks, which the University stated will be released soon.
What Happens If a Candidate Does Not Rank Well?
Candidates who obtain high UTME scores but do not rank competitively within their chosen programmes may receive a change-of-course notification.
Such changes will enable the Admissions Unit to process admission under programmes where candidates can be properly ranked.
Affected candidates should regularly monitor their JAMB portal and follow any instructions provided.
Direct Entry Screening Requirements
Direct Entry candidates will be screened using the documents uploaded during the admission process.
Applicants are advised to ensure that their certificates have been verified through the Nigerian Integrated Post-Secondary Data System (NIPEDS).
They must also present their A’Level qualifications during the physical screening exercise.
Data Verification for Admission Processing
IAUE will verify and screen all candidate information obtained through the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
The same data has already been uploaded to the University’s portal and will be used for admission processing and screening purposes.
Documents Required for IAUE Screening
All candidates must appear in person for the compulsory biometric verification exercise.
Candidates should come along with:
- JAMB result slip
- O’Level result (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB)
- Post-UTME registration slip printed from the University portal

Candidates are expected to appear neat and properly dressed.
Hair should be well groomed, and candidates must conduct themselves appropriately throughout the exercise.
The University warned that any form of ill-behaviour will result in automatic disqualification.

Candidates should continuously monitor their admission status through the JAMB portal after receiving their screening schedules.
Some applicants may be required to carry out specific actions within a stipulated period, including:
- Change of course on the JAMB portal for proper ranking
- Correction of personal or admission data as directed by the University
Candidates affected by such requirements will receive notifications through secure text messages or email.

Candidates, parents, and guardians are advised to verify all admission information through the University’s official website and approved social media platforms.
The University stated that it will not be responsible for losses resulting from scams, misinformation, or failure to follow official communication channels.

The University also noted that its portal does not permit duplicate phone numbers or duplicate email addresses.
Instructions for Candidates Awaiting Results
Candidates awaiting O’Level or A’Level results should upload their results online immediately after they become available.
They are also advised to visit the Admissions Unit promptly for physical screening.
Direct Entry candidates must additionally ensure that their A’Level qualifications are verified on the Nigerian Integrated Post-Secondary Data System (NIPEDS) after uploading the results.
