Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates seeking admission into the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE), Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), Bachelor of Science in Education (B.Sc.Ed), and Bachelor of Arts in Education (B.A.Ed) programmes offered by the College.

The admission exercise covers both regular and weekend study options, providing flexible pathways for candidates pursuing professional qualifications in education and related fields.

About the DESCOEM Dual Mandate Programme

The Dual Mandate Programme enables the College to offer both NCE and degree programmes, providing students with opportunities to earn nationally recognized teaching qualifications.

Candidates seeking admission into the NCE programme will undergo a three-year course of study, while holders of the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) may apply for a two-year Direct Entry degree programme in relevant disciplines.

DESCOEM Admission Requirements

NCE Admission Requirements

Candidates seeking admission into the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) programme must possess:

  • A minimum of four credit passes in relevant O’Level subjects.
  • Credit passes in English Language and Mathematics.
  • Results obtained from WAEC, NECO, or GCE.
  • Results obtained in not more than two sittings.

Admission may be offered with or without JAMB.

Degree Direct Entry Requirements

Candidates seeking admission into the B.Ed, B.Sc.Ed, or B.A.Ed programmes through Direct Entry must possess:

  • An NCE certificate from a recognized College of Education.
  • Or an equivalent qualification relevant to the intended course of study.

Applicants should ensure that their qualifications align with the department they wish to enter.

Can Candidates Apply Without JAMB?

Yes.

Candidates applying for the three-year NCE programme can gain admission without sitting for JAMB, provided they meet the minimum O’Level requirements specified by the College.

Can NCE Holders Apply for Degree Programmes?

Yes.

Candidates who already possess an NCE qualification may apply for admission into the two-year Direct Entry degree programme.

The NCE qualification must be relevant to the intended department or course of study.

Admission Form Fee

Interested candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of:

₦1,000 only

Payment should be made at the College Bursary for the purchase of the admission form.

The fee covers admission into the Regular and Weekend NCE, B.Ed, B.Sc.Ed, and B.A.Ed programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.
