Nigerian Law School Bar Part I 2026 Application Guide; The Council of Legal Education, Nigerian Law School, has released a step-by-step guide for candidates applying for the Bar Part I 2026 Programme.

The notice, signed by Aderonke O. Osho, Secretary to the Council and Director of Administration, directs applicants to pay the application fee through Remita before moving to the Nigerian Law School portal for further processing. The process starts with payment, so candidates need to get that part right from the start.

Bar Part I 2026 Application Fee Payment

Applicants must first visit the Remita payment platform to pay the application fee.

On Remita, candidates should select “Pay FGN’s and State TSA”, then choose “Pay Federal Government of Nigeria”. After that, they should type “Council of Legal Education” in the Name of MDA field.

Under “Name of Service/Purpose”, applicants should select “Application Fee”. The approved application form fee is ₦30,000.

Candidates must enter their full names correctly in the “Applicant Name” field, with surname written first. This detail helps reduce mistakes during the application process.

After filling in the required information, applicants can pay with an ATM card or visit any bank branch to complete payment.

Bar Part I 2026 Application Form

After successful payment, applicants should complete the application form through the Nigerian Law School portal.

Once the form is submitted successfully, applicants will receive an email containing their Application Number and Password. Candidates should keep these details safe because they will be required for portal access.

After receiving the application number and password, candidates should visit the Nigerian Law School portal.

Applicants should click on “NLS Portal” and select “Bar Part I 2026 Portal”. This section allows candidates to continue their application process using the login details sent to their email address.

Key Note for Applicants

Candidates should complete the Remita payment before starting the portal stage.

Applicants should also ensure that their names are arranged correctly, with surname first, and they should check their email carefully after submitting the form to retrieve their Application Number and Password.
