Wilson & Yinka Badejo Foundation Opens 2026 Scholarship Application for Nigerian Students; The Wilson & Yinka Badejo Foundation has opened its 2026 scholarship application cycle for undergraduate students across Nigeria.

The programme is designed to provide financial support, mentorship, and career guidance to students in public tertiary institutions. Applicants from any level of study and any academic discipline may apply, as long as they meet the stated eligibility requirements.

Who Can Apply for WYBF Scholarship 2026?

The scholarship is open to students who demonstrate financial need and strong academic performance, along with verifiable good character.

Applicants must:

  • Be from a less privileged background
  • Provide a short personal statement explaining their background
  • Be enrolled in, or have admission into, an accredited public tertiary institution in Nigeria
  • Not be students of private tertiary institutions

Students who have previously received at least two scholarships from the foundation are not eligible to apply again.

Applicants may apply for both available categories, but each selected candidate can only receive one award.

Legacy Scholarship

The Legacy Scholarship has been running since 2008. It supports brilliant indigent students studying in public universities, polytechnics, or colleges of education.

Eligible institutions also include the West African Theological Seminary and the Life Theological Seminary, Ikorodu.

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Reside in Nigeria
  • Be admitted into, or currently studying in, a public tertiary institution
  • Submit a completed online application form

Additional requirements include:

  • JAMB admission letter (for newly admitted students not yet in class)
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5 (for current students)
  • Recommendation letter from a cleric, Head of Department, course adviser, or Dean of Students

Applicants may also be invited for an interview depending on the foundation’s decision.

There is no age limit for this category.

Nurturing Hearts Scholarship

The Nurturing Hearts Scholarship was introduced in honour of Rev. Mrs Adeyinka Badejo, co-founder of the foundation.

This category is specifically for:

  • Female applicants aged 18 to 28
  • Students with interest in children’s ministry work
  • Applicants pursuing academic, vocational, or professional training related to children’s ministry

The scholarship is renewable once.

Requirements include:

  • Completed online application form
  • 500–750 word essay explaining interest in children’s ministry and intended impact on children
  • Two recommendation letters from a cleric, mentor, professor, or counsellor
  • Possible interview with the scholarship board
  • Proof of eligibility, including age and gender verification

Scholarship Benefits

Successful applicants will receive:

  • ₦100,000 scholarship award for academic support
  • Mentorship from professionals
  • Career guidance and development opportunities
