IDPIL Opens 2026 Scholarship and Bursary Awards for Ikorodu Students; Ikorodu Division Peace Initiatives Limited (IDPIL) has announced the opening of applications for its 2026 Scholarship and Bursary Awards.
The scheme is designed for students who are indigenes or residents of Ikorodu Division and are currently studying in public tertiary institutions across Nigeria. It aims to support education, encourage academic excellence and promote human development within the division.
Purpose of the IDPIL Scholarship and Bursary Awards
IDPIL established the scholarship and bursary programme to provide financial support to students from Ikorodu Division.
According to the organisation, the initiative is aimed at:
- Encouraging academic excellence among students
- Supporting human development in the division
- Reducing financial pressure on families
- Preventing school dropouts and reducing youth vulnerability to crime, cultism and social unrest
The organisation also noted that many families have experienced financial strain due to post-COVID-19 economic challenges and global economic downturns.
IDPIL Scholarship and Bursary Categories
The award scheme is divided into three categories:
- Scholarship Scheme
- Bursary 1
- Bursary 2

Scholarship Scheme
The Scholarship Scheme is awarded to students with strong academic performance.

- Open to indigenes and residents of Ikorodu Division
- Annual award value: ₦200,000
- Covers the duration of the student’s academic programme
Applicants will be required to sit for an aptitude test and attend an oral interview as part of the selection process.
Bursary 1
This category also targets academic performance but is a one-time award.
- Open to indigenes and residents of Ikorodu Division
- Award value: ₦100,000
- Duration: One academic session only
Bursary 2
This category is designed for students facing financial hardship.
- Open only to indigent indigenes of Ikorodu Division
- Award value: ₦50,000
- Duration: One academic session only

IDPIL Scholarship and Bursary Requirements
To be eligible, applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Must be a full-time student in a public tertiary institution in Nigeria
- Must be in at least second year of study
- Must possess a valid Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA)
- Must provide proof of indigeneship
Accepted proof of indigeneship includes:
- Letter of identification from a recognised Oba and Local Government or LCDA
For resident applicants:
- Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) card is required
Additional requirement:

Rule on Double Application
IDPIL stated that applicants are not allowed to apply for both the scholarship and bursary schemes simultaneously.
Any candidate found submitting multiple applications will be disqualified.
