AE-FUNAI Secures Full NUC Accreditation for 10 Academic Programmes

AE-FUNAI Secures Full NUC Accreditation for 10 Academic Programmes; Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike has secured full accreditation from the National Universities Commission for 10 academic programmes.

The accreditation followed the NUC verification exercise conducted at the university in October and November 2025.

NUC Accreditation Visit to AE-FUNAI

The National Universities Commission carried out the accreditation exercise at AE-FUNAI under the provisions of the Education Act CAP E3, Laws of the Federation, 2024.

The Act authorises the Commission to establish Minimum Academic Standards for academic programmes offered in Nigerian universities and to accredit those programmes.

AE-FUNAI Receives Full Accreditation for All Presented Programmes

The outcome of the accreditation exercise was communicated through an official letter signed by Engr. Abraham Chundusu, the Director of Accreditation.

He signed the letter on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission.

According to the letter, AE-FUNAI secured full accreditation for all 10 academic programmes presented during the 2025 accreditation exercise.

The following programmes received full accreditation from the National Universities Commission:

  • Criminology and Security Studies
  • Public Administration
  • Education Automobile Technology
  • Education Building Technology
  • Education Computer Science
  • Education Economics
  • Education Electrical/Electronics Technology
  • Education Mechanical Technology
  • Education Woodwork Technology

Vice-Chancellor Reacts to the Accreditation Success

The Vice-Chancellor of AE-FUNAI, Prof. Nwachukwu, described the accreditation result as a strong national endorsement of the university’s academic standards and institutional quality.

According to him, the achievement reflects the strength of the university’s curriculum, the competence of its academic staff and the preparedness of its graduates to compete globally.

AE-FUNAI Reaffirms Commitment to Academic Excellence

Prof. Nwachukwu also reaffirmed the university administration’s commitment to sustaining academic excellence across all programmes.

He stated that the university would continue to invest in staff development, modernise laboratories and library facilities, strengthen internal quality assurance systems and reward excellence within the institution.
