About ECWA College of Nursing Sciences, Egbe

ECWA College of Nursing Sciences, Egbe is a faith-based institution established to provide quality nursing and midwifery education rooted in Christian values. The College is situated on a 40-acre medical complex, comprising both an Academic Campus and a Residential Campus.

Currently, the institution runs:

  • Basic Nursing
  • Post-Basic Nursing
  • Midwifery programmes

The College serves a student population of approximately 400 learners, and continues to expand its academic and administrative capacity to support training excellence.


Available Positions

The College is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following roles:

1. Deputy Provost

The Deputy Provost is the second-highest administrative officer of the College and works closely with the Provost in managing daily operations.

Key requirement:

  • Must be a registered Nurse and Midwife
  • Must be licensed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) as a Nursing Educator

2. Registrar

The Registrar serves as the Chief Administrative Officer of the College.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of administration and academic support services
  • Supervision of student support services and records
  • Management of information technology and institutional documentation
  • Policy implementation and institutional governance support

The Registrar also supports the Provost in advancing the College’s mission and ensuring operational stability.


3. Nurse Educator

Nurse Educators are responsible for the training and academic development of nursing students.

Duties include:

  • Curriculum planning and delivery
  • Classroom teaching and practical instruction
  • Student assessment and academic support

The role involves close interaction with students, including providing guidance to those who may require additional academic support.


4. Midwife Educator

The Midwife Educator focuses on the training of future midwives through both theoretical instruction and hands-on clinical learning.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching and curriculum development
  • Practical supervision and skills training
  • Student assessment, feedback, and mentoring

5. Clinical Instructors

Clinical Instructors are experienced nurses who guide and supervise students during clinical postings.

Core duties:

  • Supervising students in real healthcare settings
  • Reinforcing professional standards and patient-care practices
  • Providing feedback and emotional support as students adjust to clinical work

This role is critical in bridging classroom learning with real-world healthcare practice.


6. Physics Lecturer (Part-Time)

The part-time Physics Lecturer will teach Physics to students, covering both theoretical concepts and practical applications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Classroom teaching and laboratory sessions
  • Student assessment
  • Contribution to curriculum development

Additional requirement:

  • Strong IT skills and a clear commitment to science education

7. Microbiology Lecturer (Part-Time)

The part-time Microbiology Lecturer will teach Microbiology and support laboratory-based learning.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching and lab coordination
  • Student assessment
  • Curriculum support and improvement

The role requires ICT competence, sound academic knowledge, and an interest in training future healthcare professionals.
