AAU Updates Transcript Policy From January 2026. Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma has approved a new transcript policy that takes effect from January 2026. Under the update, student transcripts will now show both examination scores and grades, instead of grades alone.
In addition, all graduating students must now collect their own personal copies of transcripts. The policy was approved by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Eunice O. Omonzejie, on behalf of the University Senate.
AAU Introduces New Transcript Format
The Vice-Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, Professor Eunice O. Omonzejie, has approved changes to how students’ academic transcripts are issued.
The approval, granted on behalf of the University Senate, takes effect from January 2026 and applies to all relevant academic records issued by the University going forward.
According to the University, the update is aimed at improving clarity, transparency, and wider acceptance of AAU academic records, especially for students applying for opportunities outside Nigeria.
What Is Changing on AAU Transcripts?
Under the new transcript policy, students’ copies of transcripts will now include:
- Examination scores
- Corresponding grades
Previously, AAU transcripts showed grades only. With this update, transcripts will now present a fuller academic record that clearly reflects students’ performance in each course.
New Rule for Graduating Students
AAU has also introduced a compulsory requirement for graduating students.
What this means:
- Every graduating student must obtain a personal copy of their academic transcript
- The University says this will follow a process similar to how students collect their academic certificates
- Students will no longer be able to claim ignorance or defer transcript collection indefinitely
This rule applies to all graduating students, without exception.
Why AAU Changed the Transcript Policy
The University explained that the updated policy is designed to:

Registrar’s Official Communication
The Registrar of the University, Mrs. Oluwayomi O. Agbebaku (MANUPA, MNIM), formally communicated the approval and directed all relevant academic and administrative offices to begin implementation immediately.
While some adjustment may be required during the transition, the University has made it clear that the policy is to take effect without delay from January 2026.
