The fraudulent message instructs students, especially those from the former Faculty of Arts and Islamic Studies, to pay N50,000 on or before 1 December 2025. The document falsely carries the name of one Saifullahi Dahiru, claiming to act “For Registrar.”
According to the University, this circular is entirely fabricated and did not originate from any authorised office. The misleading message specifically mentions the following faculties:
- Faculty of Languages, Linguistics and Theatre Arts
- Faculty of History and Development Studies
- Faculty of Islamic Studies and Sharia (formerly part of the old Faculty of Arts and Islamic Studies)
BUK’s Official Position
The University has made its stance clear on the matter:
- The circular is fake.
- No such payment has been approved, announced, or authorised by any recognised body within the University.
- Students are strongly advised to disregard the message, as it is not from the Office of the Registrar or any official university channel.
- Bayero University, Kano does not issue financial directives via random social media posts or through individuals who lack the authority to speak for the institution.
