UNIUYO Students’ Union Releases New Guidelines for Using Sports Facilities

UNIUYO Students’ Union Releases New Guidelines for Using Sports Facilities; The Students’ Union of the University of Uyo has issued an important notice to all students, teams, and groups regarding the proper use of the institution’s sports facilities. The announcement, signed by the Students’ Union Director of Sports, Abasifreke Job, outlines new procedures that must be followed before accessing any sporting area on campus.

According to the directive, students who wish to use facilities such as the football fields, volleyball court, basketball court, tennis court, indoor games area, and other related sports spaces are now required to complete proper documentation. This new requirement is aimed at ensuring fair scheduling, organized usage, and improved maintenance of the university’s sporting resources.

Purpose of the New Guidelines

The Students’ Union explained that the documentation process is essential for maintaining the sports facilities in good condition. By regulating access, the university hopes to keep the equipment functional and ensure that all students—especially those who are sports-inclined—benefit from safe, orderly, and well-managed sporting environments.

Director of Sports, Abasifreke Job, emphasized that the cooperation of the student body is crucial for sustaining a vibrant sports culture on campus. He added that effective management will support talent development, prevent overcrowding, and reduce the risk of damage to facilities.

How Students Can Access the Facilities

Students who wish to book any sports facility, make inquiries, or discuss potential collaborations are advised to reach out to the Director of Sports. This can be done through the Students’ Union Building or via established official communication channels.

Call for Unity and Discipline

The announcement concluded with an appeal for unity, discipline, and collective responsibility as the university community works together to strengthen sports activities and enhance the overall sporting experience on campus.
