Enugu State Government Launches 2025 Scholarship Awards Programme; The Enugu State Government, through the Enugu State Scholarship and Education Loans Board (ESSELB), has officially launched its 2025 Scholarship Awards Programme for qualified indigenes of the state. The initiative—endorsed by His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, Executive Governor of Enugu State—is aimed at supporting academic and professional advancement for undergraduates, postgraduates, and teachers.
Scholarship Categories & Available Slots
1. Undergraduate Scholarship
- 500 slots
- For Enugu State indigenes in 100 or 200 level in any accredited Nigerian tertiary institution.
2. Teachers’ Scholarship
- 1,000 slots
- For indigenous teachers employed in Enugu State Government schools.
- Supports Master’s degree programmes.
- Beneficiaries must commit to a minimum of 10 years of service after receiving the award.
3. Postgraduate Scholarship
- 100 slots
- For Master’s and PhD students enrolled in Nigerian universities.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be confirmed indigenes of Enugu State.
- Hold valid admission for the 2025/2026 academic session (for undergraduates and postgraduates).
- Teachers must present valid evidence of employment in an Enugu State Government school.
Required Documents
All applicants must provide:
- Local Government of Origin Certificate
- Admission Letter / Letter of Acceptance
- Attestation Letter from the community’s Traditional Ruler (HRH)
- Employment Letter (for teachers only)
- Recent passport photograph
All documents should be arranged and uploaded as a single PDF file not exceeding 2 MB.
