OAU Announces Gate Access Protocol Ahead of 49th Convocation Ceremony

OAU Announces Gate Access Protocol Ahead of 49th Convocation Ceremony; As the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) prepares for its 49th Convocation Ceremony scheduled for Thursday, 11th to Saturday, 13th December 2025, the Ceremonials Committee has released important guidelines to ensure a smooth, secure, and well-coordinated event.

In an official notice, the Committee announced that all vehicles entering the campus during the convocation period will be required to comply with a gate access protocol. According to the directive, vehicles without the approved University sticker will be charged a daily access fee of ₦1,000.

This measure, the Committee noted, is aimed at maintaining order, enhancing security, and preserving the sanctity of the convocation activities, which are expected to attract a large number of graduands, families, alumni, and special guests.

Staff members whose vehicles do not yet have the official University car stickers are strongly advised to obtain them from the designated office before the convocation dates. Doing so will ensure seamless entry and help reduce congestion at the gates.

The Committee appealed to all members of the University community for their cooperation, emphasizing that adherence to the guidelines will contribute significantly to the overall success of the ceremony.
