FUTA Announces 188th Inaugural Lecture: “Mathematics — Myths/ Mysteries and Life”; The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has announced its 188th Inaugural Lecture titled “Mathematics: Myths, Mysteries and Life”, to be delivered by Professor Felix Ilesanmi Alao, a renowned Professor of Mathematics (Fluid Mechanics) from the Department of Mathematical Sciences.
The lecture is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, 25th November 2025, at the Obafemi Awolowo Auditorium, FUTA, beginning promptly at 3:00 PM. Guests are expected to be seated by 2:45 PM.
Professor Alao, who holds B.Sc. (Benin), M.Tech., and Ph.D. (Akure), will delve into the fascinating intersections between mathematics and everyday life, seeking to demystify the myths and unravel the mysteries that surround the discipline.
The event will be chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adenike Temidayo Oladiji, FAS, and coordinated by the Registrar, Mr. C.O. Adeleye, who officially signed the announcement.
