2026 Maastricht University Bright Talents Scholarship Netherlands. The Maastricht University (UM) Bright Talents Scholarship is a fully funded award designed to attract exceptional non-EU/EEA students with outstanding academic records and strong personal development potential. The scholarship supports students who have been (conditionally) admitted to a master’s programme linked to the Brightlands campuses in the Netherlands.


Scholarship Overview

The UM Bright Talents Scholarship provides full tuition coverage, a monthly living stipend, and guaranteed accommodation, enabling scholars to focus entirely on their studies and development at Maastricht University.


Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Maastricht University Bright Talents Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Hold a nationality outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland.
  • Meet the requirements for obtaining a Dutch entry visa and residence permit.
  • Not hold dual nationality from any EU/EEA country or Switzerland.
  • Not have previously studied in a degree-seeking higher education programme in the Netherlands (exchange programme participation is allowed).
  • Be 35 years or younger as of 1st September, 2026.
  • Have applied for admission to a participating master’s programme at Maastricht University for the 2026/2027 academic year.
  • Meet the specific academic and language requirements of the chosen master’s programme.
  • Commit to serving as an active ambassador for Maastricht University and the Brightlands community during and after the study period.

Scholarship Value

The Maastricht University Bright Talents Scholarship provides:

  • Full tuition fee waiver
  • Living expenses: €15,925 per academic year (approximately €1,225 per month)
  • Guaranteed accommodation (a mandatory part of the scholarship package)
