IBBUL Reiterates Ban on Sign-Out Celebrations for Final-Year Students; The Management of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai (IBBUL) has once again cautioned graduating students against engaging in sign-out celebrations, warning that violators will face strict disciplinary measures.
In a circular issued by the Student Affairs Division on Friday, September 12, 2025, and signed by the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Musa Salihu Ewugi, final-year students were reminded that this restriction is not new but a reinforcement of an earlier directive dated February 9, 2023.
University’s Position
According to the circular, the decision aims to:
- Maintain peace and order on campus
- Uphold discipline among students
- Protect the image and integrity of the institution
Prohibited Activities
The University highlighted activities often associated with sign-out celebrations that remain banned, including:
- Writing or signing on shirts
- Reckless or convoy driving of cars and motorcycles
- Inviting outsiders to gather within or around the campus
- Wearing unusual attires
- Drinking alcohol or engaging in unruly behavior
Strict Enforcement
Professor Ewugi stressed that the University will not tolerate any breach of the directive. He noted that the reminder was necessary because some students tend to disregard earlier warnings, adding that the Management’s position remains firm and uncompromising.
