IAUE 2025/2026 HND-to-Degree Conversion & Part-Time Degree Programmes. Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) has officially opened applications for two flexible academic programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session:

  • The HND to Degree Conversion Programme – for Higher National Diploma holders looking to earn a full B.Sc., B.A., B.Ed., or B.Tech degree.
  • The Part-Time Degree Programme – for working professionals or anyone who cannot commit to full-time study.

Here’s what you need to know about both.


HND to Degree Conversion (1-Year Programme)

Who Can Apply:
This track is for HND holders who want to upgrade to a university degree in a related course. The programme runs for one academic year (two semesters).

Requirements:

  • HND certificate from a recognized institution
  • NYSC discharge, exemption, or exclusion letter
  • O’Level result (must include English and Maths)
  • Official ND and HND transcripts
  • Professional certificates (e.g., ICAN, ANAN, ACCA) for Accounting applicants

  • Agriculture: Crop & Soil Science, Animal Science, Agricultural Economics
  • Management Sciences: Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Management, HR, Entrepreneurship
  • Education: Educational Management, Psychology, Business Education, Library & Info Science
  • Humanities: English, History, Religious & Cultural Studies, French
  • Social Sciences: Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Social Work
  • Natural & Applied Sciences: Computer Science, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Maths
  • Vocational & Technical Education: Building, Mechanical & Electrical Technology, Home Economics

How to Apply:

  1. Visit the IAUE application portal
  2. Complete the form online
  3. Print and submit your form and credentials at: Centre for Continuing Education, St. John’s Campus, Aba Road, Port Harcourt

Part-Time Degree Programme (Regular & Weekend Options)

Who Can Apply:
Ideal for people who are working, running a business, or otherwise unavailable for full-time schooling. Two study modes are available:

  • Regular Part-Time: Attend classes with full-time students (4–5 years)
  • Weekend Part-Time: Saturday and Sunday classes only

Note: Regular part-time students are eligible for NYSC.

Requirements:

  • 5 credit passes in SSCE, NECO or NABTEB (must include English and Maths)
  • No more than two sittings
  • Applicants must be at least 26 years old

  • Agriculture: Same as above
  • Management Sciences: Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Management, Office Management
  • Education: Adult Education, Guidance & Counselling, Library Science, Business Education
  • Humanities: English, French, Music, History, Religious Studies
  • Social Sciences: Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Social Work, Geography
  • Natural & Applied Sciences: Computer Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths
  • Vocational & Technical Education: Home Economics, Building, Mechanical, Electrical Technology

  1. Visit the IAUE part-time portal
  2. Fill and print out your application form
  3. Submit it with your documents to: Director, Centre for Continuing Education, St. John’s (Diobu) Campus, Aba Road, Port Harcourt

Important: Part-time applicants must also register with JAMB when the portal becomes available.
