KWACAILS Admission Form for 2025/2026 Academic Session Now Available. The Kwara State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies (CAILS), Ilorin, has officially opened admission for the 2025/2026 academic session. Applications are invited for National Diploma (ND), diploma, and professional programmes in fields such as law, ICT, Islamic studies, mass communication, and more.

Available Programmes at CAILS

CAILS offers a variety of NBTE-approved ND programmes, diploma, and professional certificate courses through its dedicated schools and centres. These programmes also serve as pathways to further study, including university admission and professional qualifications.


1. NBTE-Approved National Diploma (ND) Programmes

CAILS has received full approval from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to offer the following ND programmes:

  • ND in Law
  • ND in Sharia and Common Law
  • ND in Computer Science
  • ND in Accountancy
  • ND in Library Science
  • ND in Mass Communication

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must have purchased a UTME form and scored a qualifying mark.
  • You must also change your institution of first choice on the JAMB portal to CAILS Ilorin before applying.

2. Diploma and Professional Programmes

CAILS also runs diploma and professional programmes through the following schools and centres, with some programmes offered in affiliation with Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete.

A. Centre for Degree and Professional Programmes (CDPP)

  • Professional Diploma in Education (PDE)
  • Advanced Diploma in Legal Studies (ADLS)
  • Imamship Programme

B. School of Arts and Islamic Studies (2 years)

  • Diploma in English and History
  • Diploma in English and Islamic Studies
  • Diploma in Islamic Studies and Yoruba

C. School of Languages (2 years)

  • Diploma in Arabic and Islamic Studies (Arabic Medium)
  • Diploma in Arabic and Islamic Studies (English Medium)
  • Diploma in Arabic English

D. School of Education (3 years)

These are equivalent to the NCE and qualify for HND or 200-level university admission.

  • Diploma in Arabic, Islamic Studies and Education
  • Diploma in Islamic Studies, English and Education
  • Diploma in Islamic Studies, Yoruba and Education

Admission Requirements for Diploma Programmes

To qualify for admission into any diploma programme (categories B to D), applicants must have one of the following:

  • At least four (4) credit passes in relevant subjects at WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, SSCE or GCE
  • Thanawiyyah or Tawjihiyyah certificate from a recognised Arabic Senior Secondary School
  • A Certificate in Arabic and Islamic Studies from a recognised tertiary institution
  • SAISSCE certificate approved by the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS)
  • Any other equivalent qualification accepted by the College
