Who Is Eligible?

To qualify for the 2025 Nifemi Brown Foundation Scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be a Nigerian citizen living in Nigeria
- Be a full-time undergraduate student in a federal or state university
- Be in 100 to 300 level
- Have a minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale (Second Class Upper or higher)
- Demonstrate good character and leadership through past roles or community activities
A letter from a school official, religious leader, or community head is required to confirm your character.
Required Documents
To be considered, your application must include all of the following:
- A valid ID (National ID, International Passport, or Voter’s Card)
- Admission letter or proof of studentship
- Most recent academic transcript or result showing your CGPA
- A 500-word personal statement (see guidelines below)
- Three signed and dated recommendation letters from different sources
- A passport-sized photo (recent and clear)
⚠️ Incomplete applications will be disqualified. Make sure each file is clearly labeled and in PDF or JPEG format, with a maximum size of 2MB per file.
How to Write a Strong Personal Statement
Your 500-word personal essay should be honest and written by you. It must include:
- A summary of your educational journey
- Notable achievements, either academic or personal
- Challenges you’ve overcome
- Your goals in education, career, and life
- How this scholarship would help you succeed
🚫 Avoid plagiarism and AI-generated content. Essays with errors, vague responses, or copied material will lower your chances of selection.
Reference Letter Requirements
You must submit three different recommendation letters, each from a unique source. Here are key points to follow:
- Acceptable referees include a lecturer, religious leader, mentor, or community figure
- Letters must be on official letterhead, signed, dated, and not older than one month
- Submitting more than one letter from the same source will result in automatic disqualification
