KWASU Issues Notice on JAMB’s 1-Year Law Admission Ban; Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, acknowledges the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s (JAMB) decision to suspend admissions into its Law programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session. This suspension stems from the Council for Legal Education’s (CLE) sanction, which was imposed because KWASU initiated its Law programme in 2018 with approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) but without prior clearance from the CLE.

Current Accreditation Status:
KWASU now holds full accreditation from both the NUC and the CLE to offer two undergraduate Law programmes:
- Common Law
- Common and Islamic Law

The suspension solely affects new admissions for the 2025/2026 session. Students currently enrolled in KWASU’s Faculty of Law will continue their studies without any disruption.
University’s Response:
KWASU respects the CLE’s decision and will comply by not admitting new students into its Law programmes for the specified academic session. The university assures that all other academic programmes remain fully accredited and open to prospective students.
