What is the United Nations Regional Course in International Law for Africa?
The United Nations Regional Course in International Law for Africa is organized by the Codification Division of the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs, in partnership with the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, the African Union, and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA). This course will be conducted in person at the ECA facilities in Addis Ababa from February 20 to March 14, 2025. The course will be conducted in English and is designed for participants from across Africa.
A maximum of 30 participants will be selected, including a few self-funded participants. The course offers a deep dive into international law, providing legal professionals with advanced training relevant to their fields.

Who Can Apply?
Eligible applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Legal Background: Candidates must have a professional background in international law.
- Language Proficiency: Applicants must be fluent in English, the language in which the course will be taught.
- Availability: Selected candidates must confirm their ability to attend the entire course.
- Nationality: The course is open to individuals from United Nations Member States that are also part of the African Group.
