The Elisabeth & Amelie Fund by the King Baudouin Foundation aims to support sustainable water management in developing countries by financing internships for students from developing countries who are studying in Belgium.

Master’s level degree (master’s, specialization master’s, or a second bachelor’s degree) linked to water management.

About the Award:

The Elisabeth & Amelie Fund focuses on an integrated approach to water management, considering both technical and sociological aspects. The internship, tied to a master’s thesis or equivalent, will take place in the student’s home country or another developing country under the responsibility of the Belgian academic institution where the student is studying.

Selection Criteria:

  • Objective: The internship must be linked to water access or management in developing countries and be part of the candidate’s end-of-year project.
  • Pertinence: The work must address important local issues.
  • Capabilities: The budget requested must align with the candidate’s needs, and they must have sufficient resources to complete the internship.
  • Innovation: The internship approach or framework should differ from usual practices.
  • Impact: The results should bring sustainable change for local communities.

Value of Scholarship:

The grant will cover expenses related to the internship, up to a maximum of €5,000.

Duration of Scholarship:

The internship, lasting 1 to 2 months, must take place between December 2024 and the end of August 2025.
