A. GUIDELINES
- Minimum Requirements: Transfer students must meet the minimum entry requirements set by both the University of Nigeria and their respective departments before seeking transfer.
- Minimum Grade Point Average (GPA): Applicants must attain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.95 on a 5.00 point scale to be considered for transfer. Additionally, they should not have spent more than two academic sessions at their former university.
- Admission Quota: The number of students admitted through transfer shall not exceed 4% of the departmental admission quota in any given year.
- Transcript Submission: Applicants must submit their transcripts along with their application. The University of Nigeria will verify these transcripts either by sending officials to the applicant’s current university or through online verification.
- Irregularities: Any irregularities discovered in the documents presented by applicants will result in the withdrawal of their application.
- Disciplinary Measures: Any university official found to be colluding with or bypassing the transfer process will face disciplinary action.
- JAMB Score: Transfer students must have a JAMB score that meets or exceeds the minimum score required for admission into their chosen department at the University of Nigeria.
- Course of Study: Applicants must transfer into the same course they studied at their former university.
- Year of Study: Transfer students will not be admitted beyond their second year for any program at the University of Nigeria.
- Current Student Status: Applicants must be current students of their current university at the time of application.
- Deadline: All applications for Inter-University transfer for the 2023/2024 academic session must be submitted on or before March 25, 2024.
- Recommendations: Recommendations for admission by transfer from faculties will be collated and presented to the Senate Entrance Board for consideration.
B. APPLICATION PROCEDURE
- Payment: Visit the University of Nigeria website or portal to generate a unique Payment Invoice for the Application Processing Fee of N195,000.00. Pay the fee through the Remita payment platform at any commercial bank, including UNN Microfinance Bank.
- Online Form: Log in to the University of Nigeria website or portal again, complete the Inter-University Transfer Form online using your telephone and invoice numbers.
- Submission: Print the completed form and submit it to the Registry (Admissions) along with copies of O/Level Results and Result Checker (WAEC/NECO Scratch card(s)). Forward the last page of the form to your current university Registrar for completion and confirmation of release. The release form should be forwarded to the Registrar, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, along with the student’s transcript from the current university.
- Important Note: Only forms completed online will be processed.
The online application period begins on Monday, March 11, 2024, and ends on Friday, March 25, 2024.
