UNIPORT SSLT Post-HND – B.Tech degree admission 2023/2024
The primary goal of this program is to provide a high-quality university-level training platform for graduates with HND or Pass Degrees or Third Class Degrees in fields such as Science, Engineering, Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Agriculture, Science Laboratory Technology (SSLT), and related disciplines. These candidates can earn a Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] degree, coupled with NISLT Professional Certification.
The program offers Bachelor of Technology [B.TECH] Degrees in the following Science Laboratory Technology specializations:
- Biology/Biotechnology (BBT)
- Biochemistry/Chemistry Technology (BCT)
- Biomedical Technology (BMT)
- Geology/Mining Technology (GMT)
- Industrial Chemistry/Petrochemical Technology (ICPT)
- Microbiology Technology (MCT)
- Physics with Electronic Technology (PET)
- Physics with Production Technology (PPT)
Admission Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for admission into the program:
(i) A minimum of a pass in Final Diploma (FD) NISLT or Lower Credit in Higher National Diploma (HND), or a Pass Degree or Third Class Degree in fields such as Science, Engineering, Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Agriculture, Science Laboratory Technology (SLT), and related disciplines from a recognized Monotechnic, Polytechnic, or University. Additionally, candidates must have five (5) Credit level passes in GCE, SSCE, WASC, NECO, NABTEC, City and Guilds, or their equivalent, in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics, all achieved in not more than two sittings.
Duration of the Program:
The program has a minimum duration of two (2) academic calendar years, with each calendar year comprising three (3) terms of evening and weekend classes.
Method of Application:
Application forms can be obtained from the Post-HND Office at the SSLT Administrative Building, located before the Uniport Bottling Plant, University Park, University of Port Harcourt. The application fee is non-refundable and amounts to Ten Thousand Naira only (₦10,000.00).
Payment should be made to “SSLT Post-HND B.Tech Degree Programme, School of Science Laboratory Technology, University of Port Harcourt” through the Remita platform.

- Visit https://utmedetails.uniport.edu.ng.
- Click on “Miscellaneous & Other Payments.”
- Select the relevant item/center/institute from the drop-down list.
- Specify the payment amount.
- Fill in the required information on the page (such as name, email, phone number, etc.).
- Click on “Create Payment.” This will lead you to the payment slip page.
- Print the page or note down the RRR number on the page and proceed to any bank branch to make the payment.
To make an online payment, click on “Pay via Remita” and follow the instructions provided on the page.
Submission of Completed Forms:
Submit the completed Application Forms along with two recent passport-sized photographs of the applicant and the original payment receipt for the Application Form to:
