AFIT Vacancy for the position of a Provost; The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Kaduna is seeking the services of a highly qualified and experienced candidate to fill the position of the Provost of the Institute.

AFIT is a recognized tertiary institution accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC), the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), and the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).
The Institute is also an approved Training Organization by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) for conducting Initial Aircraft License Preparatory Course.
Position: Provost
The Provost will be responsible for heading the Academic Branch of the Institute. AFIT offers both university and polytechnic education, making it a hybrid higher institution. The ideal candidate should be a renowned Professor of engineering with a proven track record of scholarly publications in reputable local and international journals.
Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate commendable leadership and administrative skills gained from experience in a tertiary institution of learning or a similar organization.
Requirements:
a. A Professor in Engineering, preferably with specialization in avionics, airframe systems, propulsion, mechanical engineering, metallurgical and material engineering, electrical/electronics, communications engineering, or mechatronics engineering.
b. At least 3 years of experience as a Professor.
c. Prolific and outstanding publication record with practical outlook and evidence of leadership in research work and post-graduate supervision.
d. Requisite administrative experience and competencies in effective planning and execution of academic programs.
e. Membership in relevant and learned professional bodies (both foreign and local).
f. Possess outstanding leadership qualities to inspire and motivate subordinates towards achieving institutional goals and mandates.
g. Proven ability to attract international research and development grants/collaborations and extra-statutory funds while mobilizing available resources for rapid development of the Institute.
h. Previous working experience with military institutions is an added advantage.
Salaries and Conditions of Service:
The emolument of AFIT Provost will be based on the Consolidated Top Federal Public Office Holders Salary Structure (TOPSAL) 7.
