ESUT gets approval for ODL center in Enugu state; The Vice Chancellor of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) has received approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to commence Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programs. The approval was granted in a letter addressed to the Vice-Chancellor.

According to the letter, the NUC has given its approval for the establishment of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology Open and Distance Learning Centre in Enugu State. This approval follows the positive assessment conducted by a panel that visited the proposed Centre from May 17th to May 20th, 2023.
The Centre is now authorized to begin its academic activities, starting with the B.Sc. Economics program, using the ICT Enabled Supported Blended Learning model of Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode of delivery.
The University is urged to ensure full compliance with the requirements for offering ODL programs in Nigerian Universities. The Commission also expects the University to emphasize to the Centre the need to implement the recommendations outlined in the attached Technical Report.
The addition of new programs will be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to pre-assessment and approval by the Commission. The University should be reminded that the Centre will be regularly monitored to ensure adherence to established best practices.
