ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for admission into Augustine University, aspiring candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Applicants should be at least 16 years old by October of the admission year.
- Candidates must have successfully completed their secondary school education.
- A minimum of five O’Level Credit passes is required, obtained in either one or two sittings in West African SSCE/GCE/NECO or recognized equivalents.
- The O’Level Credit passes must include English Language, Mathematics, and at least three other subjects that are relevant to the chosen course of study.
Candidates who are awaiting the results of their SSCE/GCE examinations are eligible to apply.
It is mandatory for applicants to have selected Augustine University (AUI) as their FIRST CHOICE during the UTME Examinations of the admission year.
However, candidates who did not initially choose AUI as their first choice in the UTME Examinations of the admission year may still apply. In such cases, they must be aware that they will need to initiate the process of changing their institution to AUI on the JAMB portal upon receiving provisional admission.
Additionally, Direct Entry candidates are also welcome to apply for admission.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for admission into Augustine University, prospective candidates must meet the following criteria:
Age Requirement: Candidates must be at least 16 years old by October of the admission year. Admission is open to all individuals, regardless of their gender, race, or religion.
General Requirements: The following requirements must be fulfilled by candidates before being offered admission into the university:
a. Admission through JAMB: All admissions into the university are facilitated by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
b. Admission into 100 Level (UTME): Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics (where applicable), in SSCE or its equivalent. These credit passes should not be obtained in more than two sittings. Additionally, candidates must pass the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) as specified by JAMB in the relevant subjects. They must also fulfill the University’s requirements in a Post-UTME screening exercise for their chosen course of study.
c. Admission into 200 Level (Direct Entry): Candidates seeking admission into the second year (200 level) must possess, in addition to the five (5) credit passes mentioned above, at least two (2) A’ level passes or their equivalent in relevant subjects. Alternatively, candidates can possess a National Certificate of Education (NCE) or a good first degree in another field, depending on the specific requirements of the course of study.
d. SSCE/NECO Basic Requirements: All candidates must meet the basic requirements of SSCE/NECO or their equivalent.

A Pass in Mathematics is acceptable.
2 RELIGIOUS STUDY Two A’ level passes in any relevant subjects.
NCE & Diploma with credit passes in relevant subjects in addition to 5 Credits in SSCE (or its equivalent) 5 O’Level credits in SSCE(or its equivalent) in English Language, CRK/IRK, Literature in English, and any other Arts subject.
A Pass in Mathematics is acceptable. English Language, CRK/IRK, and any other Arts subject.
3 PHILOSOPHY Two A’level passes in any relevant subjects.
NCE & Diploma with credit passes in relevant subjects in addition to 5 Credits in SSCE (or its equivalent) 5 O’Level credits in SSCE(or its equivalent) in English Language and four other relevant subjects.
A Pass in Mathematics is acceptable. English Language and any other three Arts subjects.
4 ECONOMICS Two A’ level passes in Economics and any one of Mathematics, Statistics, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Agric Science, Accounting, Bus. Management, History, and Government. 5 O’Level credits in SSCE(or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and two other arts or social science subjects. English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any of Government, Commerce, Financial Accounting, History, Literature-in-English, French, and CRS/IRS.
5 ACCOUNTING Two A’ level passes including Economics 5 O’Level credits in SSCE(or its equivalent) including English Language, Mathematics, Economics English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other Social Science subject
6 BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION Two A’level passes including Economics 5 O’Level credits in SSCE(or its equivalent) including English, Mathematics,

For a degree in statistics, any science subject is acceptable in place of Physics English Language, Mathematics, and Physics, and one of Chemistry, Biology, Geography and Economics in the order of preference.
2. ENVIRONMENTAL BIOLOGY At least 2 A’ level passes in Biology, Botany, Zoology and Chemistry or Physics.
Credit passes in NCE and OND in addition to 5 credits at SSCE (or its equivalent). Five credit passes in SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. English Language, Biology, Chemistry, and any other Science Subject.
3. MICROBIOLOGY At least 2 A level passes in Biology, Botany, Zoology, and Chemistry or Physics.
Credit passes in NCE and OND in addition to 5 credits at SSCE (or its equivalent). Five credit passes in SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics English Language, Biology, Chemistry, and any other Science Subject.

5. COMPUTER SCIENCE Two A’ level passes in science subjects including Mathematics. OR NCE with at least merit in Mathematics and one other Science or Social Science subject. Five O’ level credit passes in SSCE (or its equivalent) to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics plus two other Science Subjects.
