UNILORIN appoints new Registrar; The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has announced the appointment of Mr. Emmanuel Dada Obafemi as its new Registrar and Secretary to the Governing Council. This announcement was made by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sulyman Age Abdulkareem, following the approval of the appointment by the University’s Governing Council.

Mr. Obafemi, who hails from Ondo State in Nigeria, is a seasoned administrator with over 20 years of experience in the field. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master’s degree in Public Administration, both from the University of Ilorin. He also has a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the University of Ado Ekiti.
Prior to his appointment as Registrar, Mr. Obafemi served as the Deputy Registrar (Council Affairs) at UNILORIN. He has also held several other administrative positions within the University, including Head of the Academic Planning Unit and Deputy Registrar (Academic Support Services).
As Registrar and Secretary to the Governing Council, Mr. Obafemi will be responsible for overseeing the University’s administrative affairs and ensuring that all administrative processes are carried out efficiently and effectively. He will also serve as a liaison between the University’s management and its Governing Council, which is responsible for setting policies and overseeing the University’s strategic direction.
Speaking on the appointment, the Vice-Chancellor expressed his confidence in Mr. Obafemi’s ability to perform his duties effectively and efficiently, given his track record of excellence in the field of administration. He also urged the new Registrar to work towards the attainment of the University’s vision of becoming a world-class institution of higher learning.
In his response, Mr. Obafemi expressed his appreciation for the appointment and pledged to work tirelessly to contribute to the growth and development of the University. He also promised to work closely with the University’s management and Governing Council to ensure that the University continues to meet its obligations to its students and other stakeholders.
The appointment of Mr. Obafemi as the new Registrar of UNILORIN is expected to bring about positive changes in the University’s administrative affairs and further enhance its reputation as a leading institution of higher learning in Nigeria.
