UNILORIN begins virtual lectures for large classes; The University of Ilorin, Kwara State, has announced that it has allocated 500 user accounts with 300-capacity zoom licences to its various courses and departments in preparation for the immediate start of virtual classrooms.

Kunle Akogun, the university’s Director of Corporate Affairs, stated in a statement to the media on Monday that the virtual classes would run concurrently with real classes.
According to the announcement, “about 500 user accounts with 300 capacity zoom licenses have been assigned to Faculties and Departments for effective virtual delivery of courses.”
“We have also designed virtual class schedules for courses with class sizes of about 1,000, 3,000, and 5,000 students using big capacity zoom licences,” it noted.
“Physical delivery of lectures/practical sessions in classrooms/laboratories is very crucial and should be consciously maintained,” it said.
It should be noted that in the aftermath of the university’s transportation problems, the administration implemented a number of efforts to reduce the impact of the tragic circumstance on students in particular.
These included an instruction to the Timetable and Room Usages Committee to modify the lecture schedule in order to make it more flexible.
