FCFMT Admission Requirements
General Requirement
- Applicants must possess minimum entry requirements of five (5) O’Level Credit in relevant subjects at one or two sittings in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB. Applicants are advised to confirm the Admission Requirements into respective National Diploma Programmes below before logging in to fill out your e-application form.
Post UTME Requirement
- Candidates must have chosen the Federal College of Fisheries and Marine Technology (FCFMT) as Most Preferred Institution on the prescribed form obtained from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), and sat for 2022/2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and scored a minimum of 100 marks.
Specific Requirements
1. FISHERIES TECHNOLOGY:
- Five (5) Ordinary Credit pass in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB in Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry, Biology, or Agricultural Science and one of the following: Physics, Economics, or Additional Mathematics obtained at not more than two (2) sittings and any other qualifications considered relevant by the Academics Board.
- Meeting the minimum cut-off score in the JAMB UTME in the following subjects: English Language, Chemistry, Biology / Agricultural Science. and Economics
2. MARINE ENGINEERING:
- Five (5) Ordinary Level Credit Pass in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any one (1) from: Further Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Biology/ Agricultural Science, Basic Electronics, Metal Work, Woodwork and Geography obtained at not more (2) sittings.
- Meeting the minimum cut-off score in the JAMB UTME in the following subjects, English Language, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry.
3. NAUTICAL SCIENCE:
- Five (5) Ordinary Level Credit Pass in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Geography and any one (1) of: Chemistry, Technical Drawing, and Economics/Commence obtained at not more than two (2) sittings and any other qualifications considered relevant by the Academic Board.
- Meeting the minimum cut-off score in the JAMB UTME in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and Geography.
4. MARITIME TRANSPORT AND BUSINESS STUDIES:
- Five (5) Ordinary Level Credit Pass in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB in Mathematics, English Language, any other three (3) of Biology/Agricultural Science, Economics/ Commerce, Geography/Physics, Accounting, and Marketing obtained at not more than two (2) sittings and any other qualifications considered relevant by the Academic Board.
- Meeting the minimum cut-off score in the JAMB UTME in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Commerce/ Economics, Geography/ Government.
5. INDUSTRIAL AND LABOUR RELATIONS:
- Five (5) Ordinary Level Credit Pass in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB obtained at not more than (2) sittings in English Language, Mathematics, and other three (3) of: Economics/ Commerce, Government/ Bookkeeping/Accounting, Literature in English or Teachers Grade II Certificate at Merit Level in five(5) relevant subjects including Mathematics and English Language.
- Meeting the minimum cut-off score in JAMB UTME in the following subjects: English Language, Government, Economics/Commerce, and Literature in English.
6. MECHANICAL ENGINEERING:
- Five (5) Ordinary Credit Pass in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB obtained at not more than two sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and one (1) other subject from: Biology, Agricultural Science, Further Mathematics, Economics, Statistics/Technical Drawings, Auto-Mechanics, Metal Work, and any other relevant subject
- National Technical Certificate (NTC) with credit passes in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English Language, and in Mechanical Trade areas.
- Meeting the minimum cut-off score in JAMB UTME in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
7. COMPUTER SCIENCE:
- Five (5) Ordinary Level Credit Pass in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB obtained at not more than two (2) sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and any other two (2) subjects from the following: Economics, Geography, Further Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science
- Meeting the minimum cut-off score in JAMB UTME in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and Geography, Economics/Chemistry.
8. HYDROLOGY & WATER RESOURCES MANAGEMENT:
- Five (5) Ordinary Credit Passes at SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB obtained at not more than two (2) sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, or Geography and any other two (2) Science subjects plus at least Pass in Chemistry and Biology.
- Five (5) Credit Pass in an NBTE recognized preliminary National Diploma course offered in a Polytechnic or similar post-secondary technical institution. The credit Pass must include Mathematics, Geography, and Physics.
- Meeting the minimum cut-off score in JAMB UTME in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
9. OCEANOGRAPHY AND FISHERIES SCIENCE:
- Five (5) Ordinary Credit Pass at SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB obtained at not more than two sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, and any two other subjects.
- Five Credit Pass in relevant subjects obtained at the final examination of an NBTE recognized preliminary ND program offered in a College of Agriculture or similar post-secondary Technical Institution. Such students must have ‘O’ level WASSC, SSCE, or GCE PASS IN Biology/Agricultural Science, Geography, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English Language.
- Meeting the minimum cut-off in JAMB UTME in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and Biology.
10. SCIENCE LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY:
- Five (5) Ordinary Credit Pass at SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB obtained at not more than two sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics, and any two (2) subjects from the following: Chemistry, Physics, and Biology/Agricultural Science, and one (1) subject from Economics, Commerce, Further Mathematics, Geography, Computer Studies, and Technical Drawing.
- Meeting the minimum cut-off in JAMB UTME in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and Chemistry
How to Apply for FCFMT Post UTME Form
All eligible candidates are to visit the College website www.fcfmt.edu.ng to register after the payment of N2,000.00 (Two Thousand naira) at any branch of a commercial bank via REMITA.
A. ONLINE PAYMENT
1. Prospective Candidates will visit www.applications.fcfmt.edu.ng and select your application type from the menus. i.e. Select POST-UTME. The Prospective candidates would be required to submit the following information:
- Surname
- Middle Name
- First Name
- UTME Registration No
- Telephone
- Email Address
Note: Both Telephone no and email must be active and personal to the applicant
2. Click on PROCEED
3. On the next page, a transaction reference no, along with your personal information will be displayed. Select how you want to pay your application fees:
- Click on the Remita “Pay Now” image to make a payment
4. A transaction Success page will be displayed once you make a payment.
- If you pay your RRR no at the bank, come back to the portal after 24 hrs of payment to continue your application.
B. ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR ALL CANDIDATES

- After successful payment for the Federal College of Fisheries and Marine Technology 2022/2023 Online Admission Screening Exercise, return to applications.fcfmt.edu.ng and CLICK the CONTINUE APPLICATION Button
STEP II
- If you applied for POST-UTME Screening, Use your JAMB Registration Number AND your SURNAME to login to the fcfmt Online application Platform at http://applications.fcfmt.edu.ng to complete your applications.
STEP III
- Carefully fill in your personal details as required
- Carefully enter your UTME details
- Fill in your O’Level details
- Scan and Upload your passport photograph, NOT MORE THAN 20KB (jpg)
